Jakarta, December 15: A second-round one-under-par 71 saw Daniel put himself in position to challenge for honours at the weekend in the Indonesian Masters.
He moved to five-under-par for the tournament helped by an opening day 68.
The US$750,000 event is the season-ender on the Asian Tour and is being played at Royal Jakarta Golf Club.
Daniel is looking for as strong finish to help his playing status on next year’s Asian Tour.
And he made a fast start today going out in three-under-par with birdies on two, six, eight and nine. He dropped a shot on the seventh.
He looked on course to challenge the leaders but came back in two-over following bogeys on 13, 15 and 16. He birdied the 14th.
England’s Justin Rose holds the clubhouse lead on 14 under par. A rain delay in the afternoon meant some players, including Rose, were unable to finish. Rose will return tomorrow morning to finish his last two holes.
